Increase an image file size to any KB or MB value
Most tools help you make images smaller, but some forms and systems reject a file that is below a minimum size. This tool raises a JPG, PNG or WebP to the value you enter, whether that is 300 KB, 1.5 MB or 50 MB. You can also upscale the dimensions to 2× when a larger pixel size is required. It is designed for situations where the upload rule is a minimum, not a maximum. The processing happens in your browser, so your photo or document image is not sent to a server.
How to increase an image size
- Select one or more images, or drag them into the drop zone.
- Enter the required number and choose KB or MB.
- Choose an output format, or keep the original format.
- Tick the optional 2× upscale box if the form also needs larger dimensions.
- Click Increase Size and download the result.
When a minimum file size is required
- Government portals: some photo or signature fields reject files below a stated KB value.
- Exam applications: a minimum size may be part of the upload specification.
- Printing workflows: a larger file may be requested by a print service, although this does not automatically improve quality.
- Testing: create a file of a known size for a workflow or upload test.
What increasing the size actually does
Adding file size does not add real photographic detail. The tool can store more data, and the optional 2× upscale adds pixels, but a soft original will still look soft. Use the smallest value that satisfies the requirement so the file does not become unnecessarily heavy. Check the downloaded file size before uploading, because some systems round sizes differently. If the portal also has a maximum, make sure the result is comfortably inside both limits. For the opposite task, use Compress Image. If you need exact width and height, use Resize Image.
Privacy and local processing
The image is processed on your device and downloaded locally. ImageTool24 does not upload or store it, and no account is required.
Frequently asked questions
Can I increase an image to exactly 1 MB?
Enter 1 and select MB. The tool aims for that value, although the final size can differ slightly because of image format and content.
Will a larger file look better?
Not necessarily. Increasing stored data or upscaling dimensions does not recover detail. Use the 2× option only when larger pixels are required.
Can I process several images at once?
Yes. Select multiple images and download the results individually or as a ZIP.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The file stays in your browser and is saved to your device when you download it.
